Boating at
the
Lake of the Ozarks has increased substantially over the past two decades. The
Lake of the Ozarks
is the perfect place to spend time relaxing on the water with family and friends
with a huge variety of restaurants and marinas along the shoreline to visit.
If you're a first time boater on
the Lake of the Ozarks, the
Missouri Water patrol provides a
wealth of information online to
inform boaters of Missouri
boating laws, safety
requirements and boating news.
You can download buoy guidelines, the Missouri Boating
Handbook, or study for the required permits to operate your watercraft on the Lake
of the Ozarks. You can visit their website at
MSWP
Beginning
January 1st, 2005 anyone born after January 1, 1984 is required to carry a boating
safety identification card issued by the Missouri State Water Patrol. (temp permits
for renting watercraft are also available) You can get your card by taking the boating
course. Beginning January 1, 2006, the card requirement also applied to non-residents.
